This regional report on North Africa, based on responses from 20 golf course managers regarding their operating performance in 2007, presents several interesting findings about this emerging golf market.
Membership at North African golf courses is characterized by a high percentage of female and junior golfers (30 percent and 11 percent respectively). The region’s golf market strongly relies on tourism and, as such, golf revenues are mainly generated by green fees. It is interesting to note that North African golf courses achieved a 25-30 percent gross operating profit margin in 2007.
